HOLISTIC HEALTH PHILOSOPHY
A Message from Kathy
For me, massage is about presence, about connection with self and others, and about healing through touch. I strive to help you connect with your body, listen to your inner wisdom, and find healing and wellness from within. I respect each person who chooses to receive bodywork from me and consider it a gift to be a part of your personal care, growth, and healing.
I've been providing compassionate bodywork since graduating from the Oregon School of Massage in 2007. I specialize in various therapeutic treatments, including Swedish/Relaxation, Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy, and massage for people living with cancer (oncology massage). I've had the honor of providing therapeutic bodywork for Olympic-bound athletes at the Olympic Track and Field Trials, people in hospice care, people undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and transfusions at OHSU, and people in need of a safe, compassionate space for healing from chronic stress, pain, trauma, and PTSD. I am trained in Trauma Informed Bodywork.
In addition to my massage training, I have a Masters in Education (M.Ed.) and have worked in social services and the healthcare field. I have also taken coursework in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Vipassana meditation, Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE), and continue to learn and be in awe of the mind-body-emotion-spirit connection.
I love spending time with family, friends & my cute dog, seeing live music, snaring photos, practicing qigong, and strolling in the forest practicing Shinrin-yoku ("forest bathing”).
~With great kindness, Kathy
"Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn't you-- all of the expectations, all of the beliefs -- and becoming who you are. "

Sweetgrass (also known as 'Holy Grass') is a sacred plant of North American indigenous people. It is given great respect and care, and gifts of thanks are offered when gathering or using it. It is used for various reasons, including purification of mind and spirit, protection from harm, and healing. It is a reminder to respect the earth and all it provides. I personally work to cultivate and nurture these values each day, bringing respect, care, gratitude, clarity, and healing to each individual massage.
